Additional information about artists:

Lon Brauer

Lon Brauer is an American painter of Figure and Plein Air landscape. His work is known for its bold use of mark making and paint application within the rendering of representational subjects. He has a BFA from Washington University and an MFA from Fontbonne University, both in St. Louis MO.
‘As a plein air landscape painter I travel all over the country in search of those things that define a particular space. Oceans, lakes, mountains, and desert…it’s all good stuff for the artistic eye! I strive to present compositions that will give the viewer a new perspective on the tried and true.’
Lon’s work is shown in galleries and juried shows across the country. He is a frequent participant in top plein air shows throughout the calendar year. He holds signature membership with Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, American Society of Marine Artists, and Outdoor Painters Society. When not in the field he spends his time in studio exploring conceptual work through figurative themes. Home base is Lon Brauer Studios in Granite City, where he lives with his partner, Quillwork artist, Djuana Tucker.

Dawn Bryant

An award-winning artist, Dawn lived in Europe five years and has traveled extensively studying art.  The daughter of an artist, she’s been painting and creating as long as she can remember.  She’s enjoyed painting, sculpting, acting, dancing, photography and musical performance.  She has produced two Best in Category pieces at both the Boca Raton Fine Art Show and the Gold Coast Show in Chicago.  She has earned a BS in Education and a Masters in Human Relations.

Dawn utilizes glass, metal and crystal in unexpected ways to create large contemporary art.  Beautiful and elegant, her pieces bring a sophisticated radiance to any room or commercial space.  Her pieces illicit a peaceful, spiritual and optimistic perspective.  They reflect energy and light which are their essence.

Manon Sander

Manon is an award-winning contemporary impressionist oil painter, born and raised in Berlin, Germany, who resides in Florida. Living in the Sunshine State presents a cornucopia of inspiration for her. However, more important than the subject matter itself is Manon’s goal to capture the effects of light on a subject and the feeling it evokes, expressing it through interesting patterns, luminous color, and juicy brush strokes.
During years spent studying oil painting at the atelier-style Marin Art School in California and Hine-tuning her skills under the tutelage of nationally known oil painters, Manon developed her own distinct contemporary impressionistic style. Manon participates in invitational and juried plein air events and exhibits frequently in juried shows. Her award-winning works are in private collections on three continents and have been selected for publications such as American Art Collector, Plein Air Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, and Fine Art Connoisseur.
Manon feels passionately about passing on her knowledge and is a sought-after instructor teaching plein air and studio classes as well as national and international painting workshops and retreats to a loyal following of student. Manon has been repeatedly invited to be on the faculty of one of the premier plein air conventions in the nation, Plein Air South and is one of the rare out-of-state members of one of the oldest and most prestigious art societies in the country, the California Art Club. The National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society as well as the American Society of Marine Artists recently recognized Manon’s work by awarding her signature status.
Her work is being represented by Lost Art Gallery in St. Augustine, Park Avenue Contemporary Art in Winter Park, FL, and The Village Art Studios in Tequesta, FL. Ultimately, Manon aims to communicate her joie de vivre through paintings that reflect the color, light, and joy Manon feels surrounded by and is ever so grateful for.

Don Wilks

“I have always been intrigued by the beauty, flow and elasticity of the human body. To see a figure bend, stretch, pull and twist is a true wonder of nature that has always stimulated my imagination.”
To make the transition from imagination to reality, I began to study with Peter Pacquette, who taught me the techniques of working with clay and metal, as well as welding, soldering and shaping rigid materials, the basic skills necessary to create a work. I was then privileged to come under the tutelage of Frank Eliscu. He is an internationally known sculptor who has many important municipal, commercial and private commissions to his credit, including the Heisman Trophy. I have studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston, MA and am a member of the National Sculpture Society.
“For me, the action and interaction of the body is the primary force that I try to convey. To achieve this I am continually working on my techniques and knowledge of the anatomy, body motion and fluidity.”
Each of my sculptures is cast in bronze at the Bronzart Foundry in Sarasota, Florida, The Green Foundry in Eliot, Maine and at Cast Glass Forms in Idaho. The edition limits are between seven and twelve pieces to assure that the detail of each piece is properly rendered. I’m currently exhibiting my work in galleries in Martha’s Vineyard, Boston, Palm Beach and Washington, D.C. I hope you will enjoy seeing these works and share in the pleasure I’ve had in creating them.
