THE SAILFISH POINT FOUNDATION IS

CHANGING LIVES

ONE SCHOLARSHIP AT A TIME

Who We Are

Those who support the foundation believe in giving back and supporting the dreams and ambitions of students with promise. They also understand the importance of promoting confidence and courage in young people and view education as a door to success.

What We do

We award scholarships to employees and dependents of Sailfish Point, as well as local Martin County students. We fund academic degrees and vocational training. Our scholarships are multi-year so qualified students can complete their studies with our support. Our recipients are awarded with metrics that we track to ensure academic success.

Why We’re Unique

We know our scholars. We experience their success personally. We help those closest to us first– our employees and their dependents. We have a significant impact on Martin County schools. We see our donors every day and answer personally for funding decisions. We have an emotional connection in all we do.

IT STARTED WITH ONE STUDENT,
ONE FAMILY, ONE SCHOLARSHIP.

It was 1999 over lunch at the Clubhouse, Ray Martino recalls when scholarships for Sailfish staff families first came up. Ray, Mike Yocom, and Bruce Edelcup heard about the bright and accomplished daughter of a staff member who couldn’t go to a first-rate college because of finances. “That day we decided to help. We started asking around and learned a number of staff families faced the same problem,” Ray said. With that, The Sailfish Point Foundation was born. Today, twenty years later and with your support, The Sailfish Point Foundation is now Martin County’s largest scholarship fund. Since our founding, grants totaling nearly $6,000,000 have supported academic scholarships and career training for Sailfish Point scholars and qualified graduating seniors from Martin County High Schools. And your generosity does not stop at the gates. We support our community partners: Project Lift, Hope Rural School, and The Boys and Girls Club, all non-profits committed to educating and training the next generation. We’ve come a long way since those first scholarships twenty years ago, and the tradition continues. Training and education are the fundamentals we still believe in. With your support, we can do even more to help the next generation prepare for a solid future. Helping others achieve their potential is what The Sailfish Point Foundation has been about since day one. We ask that you stand with us and join our effort.

Ray Martino

“The staff at Sailfish surrounds us and supports us every day.

They are like family. Family helps family.”
